STATUS INFORMATION |
|
WYNDD maintains current information on the ecology, trends, and status of vegetation types and rare species in Wyoming. WYNDD biologists commonly prepare summary and status reports for particular species, often including range maps at the continental, regional, and state scales, as well as discussions of information gaps and research needs. Such reports are typically prepared at the request of private companies, state agencies, or federal agencies, and are formatted to the particular needs of those requesters. A few reports, such as the biennial Wyoming Plant and Animal Species of Concern list, are prepared for and distributed to a general audience on a regular basis. Requests for information of this type require direct contact with WYNDD staff to discuss details and cost. In general, requests of this nature that require less than 1 hour of staff time are answered free of charge; requests that require more staff time are usually handled as separate contracts or cost-share projects between WYNDD and the data requester. Contact WYNDD staff if you require new or specialized products of this nature. |
| State Species Abstracts for the majority of plants and several animals are posted under the 'Links' column in our Species of Concern tables. These abstracts provide the most complete species information posted by WYNDD, including an expanded field guide with graphics and map, a highlight of state status, and a list of primary references. Questions regarding these abstracts should be directed to staff. |
