Brandy S. Nagamine

 

Biographical Sketch:

Brandy Nagamine, originally from Honolulu, HI, is a 2nd year graduate student.  After completing her B.S. in Animal Science from Colorado State University, she moved across the border to study under Ana (Nicky) Bratanich, the WSVL virologist. When she chooses  to have a life outside of the laboratory, she enjoys gardening, snowboarding, attending performing arts, tinkering, reading, and dancing.

Research:

Her research interests include molecular virology, viral phylogeny, and wildlife zoonosis. She is currently characterizing a novel gammaherpes virus isolated from a prairie dog showing strong homology to primate and human Rhadinovirus members.
