The Department of Veterinary Sciences is a unit of the College of Agriculture at the University of Wyoming.  It operates the Wyoming State Veterinary Laboratory on behalf of the State of Wyoming.  Since 1983, the department has hosted veterinary students interested in wildlife diseases in an externship program. 

   Some institutional funded support will be available in late 2005 for veterinary students who come to the department with a demonstrable interest in wildlife disease investigation.  Until that funding is available, students visit at their own expense.
