To the editor:

I enjoy your magazine very much. I especially appreciate the story “Calling Dr. Scheer” (UWyo Winter 2003). Gentian Scheer is truly a talented young lady who is reaching her goal in life with dedication to her ideals and hard work.

To the editor:

You failed to acknowledge the presence of a Sigma Nu chapter in your article “Saving Tradition” (UWyo Winter 2003). This represents a real disappointment to several hundred members of that chapter across Wyoming and the United States. UW chapter members include former Sen. Cliff Hansen, Ralph McWhinnie, and Jack Guthrie. One third of the Distinguished Alumni and Medallion Service awards have gone to men from that chapter of Sigma Nu. It would seem that the record of this chapter at least warranted a mention by you in your feature article.

Your article mentioned a committed partnership with alumni, UW administration, and national fraternity and sorority offices. It will be difficult to bring this about if you do not take into account all of the entities involved and give good credence to the roles alumni can play.
