March 29, 2006 -- Graduate students in all disciplines will showcase their research achievements in either poster or oral presentations during a symposium Monday and Tuesday, April 3-4, on the second floor of the University of Wyoming Union.
Concurrent oral presentations will be offered from 9 a.m.-noon and from 1-5 p.m. both days. Poster sessions are scheduled from 3-5 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m.-noon Tuesday. All sessions are free and open to the public. A complete schedule of presentations can be viewed on the Web page at www.uwyo.edu/UWGrad and click on "program" under "graduate student symposium."
"The symposium provides graduate students a forum to enhance their presentation skills in a professional environment, and offers an opportunity for the public and university community to see the quality of the diverse research being conducted on campus," says Don Roth, dean of the Graduate School. "The proceedings will be published, giving the students an opportunity to build their resumes and increase their chances for employment."
Sessions will feature presentations by students within life sciences, physical sciences/engineering, humanities/fine arts/education, or social sciences.
