Friday, April 1, 6:30 and 8 p.m. UW Planetarium show, "The Springtime Sky: An introduction to backyard astronomy for the month of April," across from the Science Library. Tickets for each show cost $2 for students and senior citizens, $3 for the public and free for children age five and under.
Saturday, April 2, 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. UW Planetarium laser shows, 7 p.m., "Laser Laughs"; 9 p.m., "The Best of Pink Floyd," across from the Science Library. Tickets for each show cost $2 for students and senior citizens, $3 for the public and free for children age five and under.
Saturday, April 2, 7:30 p.m. and Sunday April 3, 2 p.m. -- UW Centennial Singers present "The Journey," UW College of Arts and Sciences auditorium. Tickets cost $3 for children under 12, $5 for students and $8 for others.
Sunday, April 3, 8 p.m. -- UW Cultural Programs presents Rajaton, a cappella vocal ensemble, UW Fine Arts Center concert hall. Tickets cost $13 for students and senior citizens, and $16 for others.
Monday, April 4, 1-2 p.m. -- Graduate Student Symposium speaker, author and television commentator Allan Lichtman, talking about the future of American politics. Wyoming Union Family Room. Free.
Monday, April 4, 7:30 p.m. -- UW Department of Music presents the Laramie/UW Civic Chorus, Handel's "Messiah," Fine Arts Center concert hall. Tickets cost $5 for students and senior citizens, and $7 for others.
Tuesday, April 5, 1 p.m. -- The Graduate School Symposium keynote speaker, Surgeon General of the United States, Vice Admiral Richard Carmona, Wyoming Union ballroom. Free.
Tuesday, April 5, 3-5 p.m. -- "Women and the Progressive Muslim Movement," presented by Sarah El Tantawi, UW Classroom Building Room 308. Free.
Thursday, April 7, 1-2 p.m. -- The Graduate School Distinguished Speaker Series presents Michael Shermer, author and publisher of Skeptic magazine, "Why People Believe Weird Things: Pseudoscience, Superstitions, Creationism, and Other Confusions of Our Time," UW College of Education auditorium. Free.
Art exhibitions, Monday Saturday, 10 a.m. 5 p.m. "The Architect's Brother," by Robert Parkeharrison, runs through April 4; "Animals in Bronze: Selection from the UW Art Museum's Collection," runs through May 28; "Old Master's Paintings at the University of Wyoming," runs through Dec. 23, UW Art Museum, Centennial Complex, 2111 Willett Drive.
