June 20, 2005 -- One of America's foremost skeptics will discuss his views during an informational program that can be seen at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, June 26, on KCWC, Wyoming Public Television. The program will be repeated Wednesday, June 29, at 10:30 p.m.
Michael Shermer, founding publisher of Skeptic magazine, will be a guest on the monthly University of Wyoming magazine, "Wyoming Signatures." Shermer is a nationally-known author who has written several books that debate the merits of anything pseudoscientific. He spoke at the spring UW Graduate School's Distinguished Speaker Series.
Another guest on this month's program is documentary filmmaker Andrew "Beck" Grace, who produced a film that was featured in the statewide "Wyoming Conversation" series sponsored by the Wyoming Council for the Humanities. The series focused on key issues facing Wyoming communities.
Images of UW vertical rope dancers performing among the rocks of Vedauwoo, a world-class rock climbing area in the Medicine Bow National Forest, will be broadcast.
University of Wyoming Television produces "Wyoming Signatures." KCWC can be seen off-air or via cable in several Wyoming communities, including Casper, Cheyenne, Laramie, Riverton, Lander, Rock Springs, Green River, Powell, Cody, Sheridan, Gillette, Jackson, Pinedale and Big Piney.
