Oct. 17, 2006 -- Four University of Wyoming faculty members will lead workshops at the 20th annual Casper College/ARTCORE Literary Conference Oct. 19-21, in Casper.
UW faculty members who will present workshops at the Equality State Book Festival are: prize-winning poet Craig Arnold, fiction writer Alyson Hagy, nonfiction and magazine writer Vicki Lindner, and nature and science writer Jeff Lockwood.
"The Equality State Book Festival is an opportunity for us to give Wyoming citizens access to the same extraordinary creative writing faculty members that UW M.F.A. (master of fine arts) students work with," says Harvey Hix, creative writing M.F.A. program director. "Like the larger university, the UW Creative Writing M.F.A. seeks to fulfill its public role robustly."
The festival celebrates books, authors and the written word in Wyoming with three days of readings, panel discussions, book signings, writing workshops, movies, a banquet and a late-night poetry slam. To celebrate two decades of successfully bringing writers and audiences together, organizers have expanded this year's festival to feature more than 40 authors, nearly all with Wyoming connections.
