EXPLORATION OF RURAL COMMUNITY DWELLERS' VALUES REGARDING ACUTE RESPIRATORY INFECTIONS (ARIS): CONNECTING PATIENTS AND PROVIDERS TO EVIDENCED

(WYO-404-06)

Health care providers are expected to use evidence-based practice (EBP) in making clinical decisions. EBP is the use of current research knowledge combined with clinical expertise and patient and family values. Currently, relatively little is known about individual and family values, beliefs and self-care practices and in particular rural family values. The purpose of this study is to explore individual and family values of rural dwellers regarding values, beliefs and self-care practices related to illness management.
