Riparian Vegetation Filter Impacts
on Non-point Source Pollutants from Range and Cropland -
WYO-310-98
Establishment rate, biomass production, and N and P uptake by hybrid willow and tall wheatgrass under greenhouse and field conditions of variable soil salinity. Impact of vegetation filters on N and P concentration and load on groundwater and streamflow. Denitrification rates in riparian soils and contributions of microbial denitrification total nitrate removal from nonpoint sources before and after installation of vegetation filters. Physical effects of stubble height/grazing residue of grazed tall wheatgrass vegetation filters on sediment entrapment; and differences in local and nonlocal land owner reaction to pro-active philosophy and strategy of the project and to determine the most effective methods of disseminating study results.
