University departments and colleges are undergoing consolidation resulting in "range" departments being merged into broader entities with broadening curriculum. There needs to be a focused discussion within the range profession regarding what elements of education are needed by employers of range graduates. The purpose of this effort is to foster an interchange of ideas and expectations throught the rangeland ecology and management (REM) profession regarding the depth and breadth of education that is desirable for REM university graduates.
