The band Bekker will be playing a free show in the Union Ballroom on November 6 at 9:00 p.m. Not to often does a band come along that captivates the audience with songs both lyrically and musically. The critically acclaimed band, Bekker is one of those few bands!

Based out of Seattle, the duo known as Bekker has been filling venues and satisfying ears up and down the West Coast for almost two years. Started by front-man Matt Bekker, the songs he writes grabs the attention of the listener from the first downbeat. The raw emotion heard in his voice and in the lyrics of his songs have created a buzz more prestigious than anyone else his age. Combined with Matt's acoustic guitar and unique vocals is the seasoned veteran, Bryan Watson on percussion and vocals. Since a young age, Bryan has been singing and entertaining the masses. He has sung the National Anthem solo for the Seattle Mariners, Sonics, and Storm as well as toured countless states and countries. Together their opposite personalities and soulful harmonies have been taking the college world by storm playing over 300 shows at over 100 colleges across the country!

Matt's original songs tug at your soul with it's poetic realism. Recently, as a three piece band, they had the honor to share the stage with American Idol runner-up, Blake Lewis at a benefit show in Seattle. As a five piece band in 2008, they placed in the top 8 bands out of over 7,000 bands at a national battle of the bands contest hosted by "BODOG". They are slated to appear on a reality TV series later this years to claim the prize of the top band!
