Classroom Relocation

Because of the age and architectural design of the buildings on the UW campus, some of the buildings or portions of them are not accessible to students with mobility impairments. To ensure that classes and laboratories on campus are accessible, UDSS works with the Room Scheduling Office to move classes to accessible locations when a student needs that accommodation. Students who need accessible classrooms are encouraged to:

  1. Request and take advantage of Priority Registration to provide a wider choice of classroom locations;
  2. Review the planned schedule of classes with your UDSS coordinator to ensure that chosen classes are accessible;
  3. Request the assistance of your UDSS coordinator to have any inaccessible classes relocated.

Early intervention with problems of classroom accessibility will improve the chances of simple changes.  Be sure to contact your UDSS coordinator well before classes begin or as soon as you have registered to address any classroom relocation issues.
