Student Affairs Outstanding Contributors

The Division of Student Affairs Outstanding Service Awards and the James C. Hurst Each StudentA Person Award was presented at the annual Student Affairs recognition luncheon on Wednesday, April 8, 2009.

Recipients of the awards are individuals who have demonstrated the following characteristics: attitude towards work; relationships with students, fellow staff, and others; initiative, innovations, and creativeness; quality and quantity of work performed; reliability, responsibility, and dependability; special problems, crises, etc. dealt with; working beyond the "call of duty"; and other supporting evidence. The recipient of the James C. Hurst Each StudentA Person Award is an individual who has gone above and beyond the call of duty to personalize the student experience and who has created a warm and caring environment for UW students.
The recipients of this year's awards were (listed in order as pictured above):
Lena Edmunds, who received the "Outstanding Exempt Staff Member," award. Lena is the AWARE Programs Coordinator for the University Counseling Center.
Fernando Aranda, who received the "Outstanding Non-Exempt Staff Member," award. Fernando is a Facilities/Grounds Attendant, Senior for the Wyoming Union.
Heather Lucero, who received the "Outstanding Contribution by a Student," award. Heather is pursuing her master's of science degree in Electrical Engineering from the College of Engineering and Applied Science and is a student employee at the Wyoming Union.
Meg Flanigan Skinner, who received the James C. Hurst Each Student A Person Award. Meg is an Academic Professional Lecturer in the Department of Zoology & Physiology.
Gary Werhonig, who received the "Outstanding External Contributor," award. Gary is an Associate Lecturer for the Department of Kinesiology and Health.
