INCOMING PACKAGES

Ø      Does S&R deliver everywhere on Campus?

Ø      I am waiting for something from the USPS, what do I need to do to get it?

INCOMING PACKAGES

Ø      Does S&R deliver everywhere on Campus?  top

o       No – we do not deliver to the Bookstore, Washakie, ARS, Sororities, Fraternities, student housing, dorms, or Vet Science in West Laramie.

Ø      I am waiting for something from the USPS, what do I need to do to get it?

o       We are not the USPS, United States Postal Service.  You will need to call Postal Services in McWhinnie Hall.

Ø      Can I receive personal packages at work; I won’t be home to sign for it?  top

o       Do not intentionally send packages to your UW address.  The carriers will not deliver or pickup packages to UW departments.  However, if a package is mistakenly delivered to UW S&R (flowers, cookies, etc.), then you will be called to come pick them up.  If not picked up, the package will be returned the next business day.

The more information you give the less likely it will arrive correctly.  Some vendors only have 3-4 address lines.  If too much information is given, the vendor has to decide what is important, which may be inaccurate.

Ø      My package was refused at the S&R dock, why?  top

o       The biggest reason for refusal is not enough information for delivery.  For example the address may read:  University of Wyoming, Shipping Department, 16th & Gibbon, Laramie, WY  82071.  This is NOT enough information to deliver the package on campus.  Please refer to the questions above for the correct address.

Ø      Our department received a package that does not belong to us, what do I do with it?  top

o       DO NOT throw the package away thinking it was a free gift (actually happened once).  Immediately call S&R for a “mis-delivered” pickup.  S&R will then do further research to find the correct owner.

o       DO NOT call the department you think it belongs to or have them come pick it up.  S&R posts all packages for delivery and signatures.  If you have signed for the package, it is your responsibility; whether you passed the package to someone else or not.
