Transfer Students

  • John W. Hoyt Scholarship -  Awards of $3,000 and $1,000 offered to WYCC graduates with a minimum of a 3.4 cumulative grade point average, or a 3.00 to 3.39 respectively. Selection will be determined by the UW Office of Admission after a review of the students' transfer GPA. The Hoyt Scholarship program is the one transfer scholarship available for Wyoming residents. The UW Admissions Office will work with each community college to confirm applicants are scheduled to graduate prior to awarding. Hathaway Scholarship recipients are not eligible for this Scholarship.

  • President's Promise Scholarship - (Will begin Fall 2008) Scholarships of $1,000 annually will be available for students who transfer from a Wyoming community college with Hathaway merit scholarship and an AA/AS. Awards will be limited to Hathaway students with a minimum of a 3.4 grade point average at their Wyoming community College.

  • Peak Achievement Scholarship -  Scholarships of $4,000 and $3,000 are available to transfer students with an AA/AS from a Wyoming community college and non-resident hours from a non-Wyoming institution of higher education. Recipients must have a minimum of a 3.4 cumulative grade point, or a 3.00 to 3.39 respectively and be enrolled in 12 or more main campus credit hours each semester for the awards. Selection will be determined by the UW Office of Admission after a review of the students' transfer grade point average. Students receiving the WUE award at a community college will be considered for the Peak Achievement Scholarship.
     
  • Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship at UW -  Available to: Transferring Phi Theta Kappa members for use during their first semester at UW. Recipients must be pursuing a first bachelor's degree.
    Provided by: University of Wyoming.
    Number of awards: Varies.
    Value: $500. Not-renewable.
    Selected by: Office of Student Financial Aid.
    Other instructions: Documentation of membership in any recognized chapter of Phi Theta Kappa should be provided to the Office of Student Financial Aid. Recipients must enroll at UW in the first regular semester following their attendance at their two-year institution.
