Charges

Your UW student account is an electronic record of your financial aid and your UW charges. Your financial aid will pay your tuition and fee charges to the extent that it can. If your aid exceeds the amount of your tuition and fees, and if you have contracted with UW for room and board, it will pay your UW residence hall charges, to the extent that it can. If any financial aid remains after UW room and board charges have been paid, other charges on your account will be paid (if you have permitted this by your answer on the award notice), such as phone bills, parking fines, etc. Financial aid remaining after all allowable charges have been paid will be mailed to you at your local address as a "credit balance check" made payable to you. You may then spend this money throughout the semester on other education-related expenses.
