The Aid Payment Process

Most types of aid are disbursed in two payments. This means that half of your aid will be issued to you at the beginning of each semester. Once your aid is issued, it will be applied to your UW student account and the appropriate charges will be paid. Be sure to check with the Office of the Registrar to verify your address is correct, as excess financial aid will be mailed to your local address. You can also check "WyoWeb" if you are an enrolled student.

If you are borrowing a loan you will also receive a letter from your lender telling you about your rights and responsibilities as a borrower. Loans processed for one semester only will be delivered in two disbursements: one half will be disbursed upon receipt of funds from the lender and the second half will be disbursed at mid-term.
