Grants
Grants are a need-based form of financial aid that do not have to be repaid.
To apply for grants, submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). If you're eligible you'll be notified on your award notice.
UW participates in two major undergraduate need-based federal grant programs:
- Academic Competitiveness Grant (AGC)
- Federal Pell Grant
- Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG)
- National Science and Mathematics Access to Retain Talent Grant (SMART)
UW also provides state-funded grants to eligible students under these programs.
- Leveraging Educational Assistance Partnership (LEAP) grants
- Some departmental scholarships in music, theatre, dance, debate, ROTC, etc.
- Athletic Grants-In-Aid
- Vietnam Veterans Awards
- Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Grants
- Wyoming National Guard Education Assistance Plan grants
UW has information on the upcoming TEACH grant.
- While the federal TEACH Grant is implemented, UW is postponing participation in this program pending a review in mid-2009 of final rules from the federal government. Additional information on the TEACH grant is available at http://studentaid.ed.gov/PORTALSWebApp/students/english/TEACH.jsp
