Description of this
webinar:
The goals of the SBIR Program include the commercialization of
innovations derived from federal R&D and the use of small business to
meet federal research and development (R&D) needs. The intent of the
SBIR Program dovetails with the NIST mission to promote U.S. innovation
and industrial competitiveness by advancing measurement science,
standards, and technology in ways that enhance economic security and
improve our quality of life. NIST has for many years deployed the SBIR
Program as a way to engage small businesses in meeting its R&D needs.
Since 2008, there has been an additional and novel approach pioneered at
NIST SBIR to support small businesses by providing access to
technologies developed by NIST which require private sector innovation
to overcome roadblocks to commercialization.
