Student Comments

One of the main points I learned from this R/UOP was the unique integrity of the patient-physician relationship in a rural community and the benefits and stresses that accompany it. I also came to appreciate even more how critical the relationship is between a rural setting and its health care system.
Michael Hejtmanek, 2000

Location

Located in north central Wyoming, Worland nestles in the foothills of the Big Horn Mountains on the Big Horn River. When the town was founded in 1906, it occupied the river's west bank. However, after the railroad laid its tracks on the east bank, the town decided to relocate and, over the winter, the residents slid the homes, businesses, and other belongings of Worland across the frozen river to the town's present site. Many nationally recognized businesses operate facilities in Worland, including Pepsi-Cola and Coors.
