Worland
Student Comments
LocationLocated in north central Wyoming, Worland nestles in the foothills of the Big Horn Mountains on the Big Horn River. When the town was founded in 1906, it occupied the river's west bank. However, after the railroad laid its tracks on the east bank, the town decided to relocate and, over the winter, the residents slid the homes, businesses, and other belongings of Worland across the frozen river to the town's present site. Many nationally recognized businesses operate facilities in Worland, including Pepsi-Cola and Coors.Worland Web site: http://www.worlandchamber.com/ Medical FacilitiesWashakie Medical Center cares for the Worland community.ClimateWorland's average daily temperature ranges from 18º F in December to 75º F in July.
