Thermopolis

Location

Thermopolis was founded in 1897 at the southern most point of the Big Horn Basin in north-central Wyoming. The town gets its name (the Greek for hot city) from the nearby hot springs, which claim to be the World's Largest Mineral Hot Springs and are open daily all year-round. Thermopolis is also home to the Wyoming Dinosaur Center which is known for some of the largest dinosaur fossil quarries in the world.

HSC Memorial Hospital has 49 beds.

Climate

Thermopolis' monthly average temperature ranges from 19° in January to 72° in July. Annual rainfall averages 11.6", while snowfall averages 41.6". Thermopolis gets 321 sunshine days a year.
