Douglas
LocationDouglas is located on the North Platte River near Laramie Peak and the Medicine Bow National Forest. Founded as a railroad town when tracks were laid across central-eastern Wyoming, it's been the home of the Wyoming State Fair since 1904. Douglas is also known as the "Jackalope capital of the world".Douglas Web site: http://www.jackalope.org/ Medical FacilitiesMemorial Hospital of Converse County is a licensed 34-bed hospital offering a comprehensive array of services including family health care, general surgical care, and specialty practices based in MHCC in colon/rectal surgery and orthopaedic surgery.ClimateAt the height of summer, highs average in the 80's. In December and January, highs average in the mid-30's.
