I am very grateful to the University of Wyoming for their hard work, diligence, and professionalism on working on my invention.  The research and develpment department (RPC) and the Senior Design and Engineering class were essential to moving this project along.  I cannot thank them enough for all the work they have done for me.  They guided me through the patent process and they have given me a head start on this project.  Once again, I want to extend my thanks to the University and would recommend their help to anyone launching a new idea.

For an inventor, getting an idea from the drawing board to the market can be a daunting task.  The Research Products Center (RPC) was established to simplify this process.  The staff at the RPC can assist Wyoming inventors in technology transfer, the process of protecting, of marketing and of licensing innovations.  Any one of these tasks can be intimidating to undertake as an inventor, but the RPC staff has the resources and skills to help inventors in all aspects of getting their ideas to the market.

What do we offer?

The Research Products Center offers no-cost assistance to Wyoming inventors regarding patents, trademarks, copyright protection and commercialization.

We can aid an inventor in any or all of the following activities:

  • Reviewing proposals to evaluate ideas from a patenting perspective
  • Writing letters and summaries to market the idea
  • Compiling mailing lists to promote the idea
  • Negotiating agreements to license the idea
  • Matching Wyoming Inventor's technical needs with resources and technical expertise at the University of Wyoming
