Technology Disclosure 03-026: Hand Accent Stencil Applicator System

Applying hand painted stencils and designs to surfaces can be a tedious and time consuming task.  First, the stencil template must be affixed to the desired surface. Then, the paint or other medium must be applied. Finally, the stencil must be removed and affixed to the next surface location, only to start the process over again and again.  Further adding to the time consuming process, if an overlapping or multi-step design is desired on the same surface, the stencil paint must have time to dry before the process can be repeated.

The “Hand Accent Stencil Applicator System” avoids these problems and allows the easy and efficient application of a design to a surface while allowing creative variations with minimal work. The system encourages free artistic expression with maximum ease.

The “Hand Accent Stencil Applicator System” uses a device that positions and applies a design on a surface.  The decorating tool exerts tensile forces on a pool of single or multi-colored texture medium, and the resulting pressure created causes the texture medium to be expelled through an artistic design template.

This novel stencil application system is fully protected by United States Patent number 6,968,780.  If your company would like to learn more about this invention and how it may be applied in commercial situations, please contact  Davona Douglass at the Wyoming Research Products Center. We would be pleased to shared further details.
