Never
again will you have the chance to meet and live with so many
different people. People with a variety of opinions and ideas. The
Residence Halls offer a diverse and exciting experience you will
appreciate the rest of your life.
Residential living and dining equals student success. Why? Research
conducted on a national level indicates that students who choose to
live in the residence halls are more likely to stay in school and
graduate and are generally more satisfied with their college
experience. To help you maximize your potential, the UW Trustees
have established a policy requiring new students to live in UW
residence halls during their first academic year on campus and to
contract for a minimum of the 12-accesses-per-week meal plan. For
more information about this policy, contact the Residence Life &
Dining Services office.
Data collected by the University of Wyoming shows that first-year
students living on campus earn higher grade point averages than
off-campus students. Additionally, students who live
on-campus:
• Have better study facilities, including computer labs and study
rooms
• Eat more nutritious meals
• Enjoy a well-rounded personal, academic, and social experience
• Save time due to shorter distances to classes and activities
• Are more aware of academic and social opportunities
