Dining Plans – The Building Blocks
The first step to making an informed choice about which dining plan
best suits your needs is to consider your class and work schedule,
your nutrition needs, and the times you prefer to eat. Each dining
plan is identified by the number of times a student may enter the
Washakie Dining Center per week. All students living in the
residence halls may choose between the Unlimited, Any-15, or Any-12
dining plans.
Dining plans run from Sunday through Saturday; at the beginning of
each week your dining plan balance is renewed. Meals not used during
a week are not carried over to the next week. When your UW WyoOne
Card is presented at the entrance to the Washakie Dining Center, a
staff member can tell you how many meals you have left for the week.
Meals are served during the contract periods for each semester.
Information about dining plans can be found here.
PLU$$ – Additional Flexibility
In
addition to all of the benefits of the Washakie Dining Center, you
can eat at dining locations across campus by using PLU$$ money.
PLU$$ is a nonrefundable debit account placed on your UW WyoOne Card
that allows greater choice and flexibility in your campus dining
experience. The Union Food Court, Book & Bean, Elements, Ross Hall
Dining Room, Fine Arts Food Cart, and vending machines across campus
all accept PLU$$. If your course schedule has you at the west end of
campus around lunch time, you don’t have to walk all the way back to
Washakie Dining Center. You can use your PLU$$ money to get a
sandwich at Elements in the Classroom Building. Or, if you’re
studying in Coe Library or the Wyoming Union and need a quick cup of
coffee to keep you going, you can use your PLU$$ money at Book &
Bean or Rolling Mill Café.
Basic PLU$$:
The Any-12, Any-15 and Unlimited dining plans automatically include
the Basic PLU$$ Package – $50 in PLU$$ money per semester, which is
enough for roughly one snack outside of Washakie each week.
Added Value PLU$$:
Purchase an additional $100 of PLU$$ Money and Dining Services will
add another $10. This gives you $50+$100+$10=$160 or approximately
$10.00 per week. For $10 you can enjoy a couple of light lunches
around campus or one lunch and a few snacks weekly.
Best Value PLU$$:
Purchase an additional $200 of PLU$$ Money and Dining Services will
add another $25. This gives you $50+$200+$25= $275 or approximately
$17 per week. For $17 per week you can enjoy up to three lunches
around campus and an occasional snack weekly. PLU$$ food purchases are made by presenting your UW WyoOne Card to the cashier at various food locations across campus. The cashier can tell you the balance on your account at the time of your purchase. Unused PLU$$ balances transfer from fall to spring, spring to summer, but not from summer to fall. |
