Basic cable television connection is included in the rent. Premium channels, such as HBO and Disney, may be added for a monthly fee through Bresnan Communications.
The University Apartments Community Center serves as a central meeting place for students and is available for parties, meetings and study groups. It is regularly used as a gathering place for residents and social events. Alcohol is prohibited.
A variety of social, recreational, educational and cultural programs are offered throughout the year. Programs are designed to help develop friendships and to create a sense of community among residents.
FLASH is a monthly newsletter published to highlight activities and provide residents with information and policy decisions. The newsletter serves as a convenient source for dates, resources and other information of interest to residents, including contact numbers for on-call staff.
A Laundromat is available in the Summit View Village Apartments for resident use. Washer/dryer hook-ups are also available in Summit View Village Apartments, Landmark Village and River Village apartments. Spanish Walk and Lewis Street Apartments have coin-operated laundry rooms in each building.
Computer access to University servers and the internet is possible through modems provided by residents. Residents of River Village apartments have the option of utilizing direct connections from their River Village apartment data port. Our Maintenance Office assumes responsibility for all repairs. Residents are expected to replace light bulbs, properly dispose of garbage and keep their apartments and grounds clean and free of hazards. Emergency Maintenance is provided on a 24-hour basis. Students residing in University Apartments are eligible to receive a limited amount of free, non-perishable food through this program. Mother Hubbard's Cupboard is located in the University Apartments office. Contact the office for more information.
Swing sets, sandboxes, and grassy play areas are located in the apartment complexes. Three large ADA-accessible play units are available in Landmark Village and River Village apartments. Remember, adult supervision is required for children in playground areas.
Free shuttle bus service to many campus locations is available to residents during school days. Check out the Shuttle Bus schedule and route.
University Apartments does not provide storage space for residents' personal items or university property. On-site bicycle storage lockers may be rented on a monthly basis by contacting Vending Services at 766-4101. Bicycle racks are located in every apartment area and residents are encouraged to properly secure bicycles in provided facilities.
With your help our community can be a safe place to live. University Police patrol the apartment areas and bar guards, door viewers and other features help ensure safety. Remember to always lock exterior doors. Also, supervision of children is the responsibility of residents.
