Personal Training

Trainers meet with clients to assess their goals and develop a tailored workout routine specific to the client and their needs. Personal trainers provide clients with the motivation, education, guidance and individual instruction required to achieve their fitness goals. Clients may need between 3 and 4 sessions in order to get them on track with a regular workout program. Personal training costs: $12 per session for students and $20 per session for faculty/staff.

Exercise Instruction (2 free consultations)

First consultation: Both the instructor and the client will complete an Exercise Instruction Evaluation. This is to help assess the individual's goals and their current state of health. At this time, the instructor will discuss with the client the importance of exercise (cardiovascular exercise, resistance training, etc.) and the importance of consistency. Instructors may provide the client with a generic workout routine. Following the interview the instructor will provide the client with a guided tour of Half Acre Gym.

Second consultation:  The instructor will introduce the client to a generic workout routine.  The instructor will properly demonstrate the exercises and describe the body part(s) which are working.  Instructors are also available to answer the clients questions and address what actions they can do to achieve their goals and desired level of fitness.

*It is important to note that out exercise instruction is not the same as personal training. The free consultations are an effort on behalf of Campus Recreation to introduce individuals to exercise as well as familiarize them with the facility. Our job as instructors is to alleviate some of the stress and point clients in the right direction; arming them with enough knowledge to comfortably and safely pursue a workout routine.
