Psychology Department.
As an undergraduate psychology major at the University of Wyoming you will
receive an excellent education in a diverse and active department within the
College of Arts and Sciences. The size of our department allows us to offer
a variety of undergraduate courses while affording the opportunity for us to
get to know our students personally and maintain low student-faculty ratios
in our classes. Students can work closely with faculty mentors in a variety
of areas of psychology, including biological, developmental, clinical,
social, and cognitive areas. We pride ourselves on maintaining low
student-faculty ratios in our advanced classes and on providing research and
practicum opportunities for interested students. There are departmental

To earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology you will need to complete
the University Studies Program, the Arts & Sciences Core requirements, and
the major requirements. The major requires at least 33 credit hours in
psychology with a minimum of 18 credit hours taken at the junior/senior
level (3000 or 4000 level). A grade of "C" or better is required in all
major courses.

For a minor in Psychology you are required to complete 18 credit hours in psychology: General Psychology (PSYC 1000, or equivalent); 9 hours at the 3000/4000 level; electives to reach the 18 required hours. A&S students seeking a minor in A&S must have 12 hours exclusive to the minor and not used in the major. A grade of "C" or better is required in all minor courses.
The purpose of these student organizations is to provide its members with information about research, community outreach, and career and graduate school planning.
