UW Trustees Approve Personnel Items

May 16, 2003 -- The University of Wyoming trustees approved the following personnel items during their business meeting Friday, May 16:

ADMINISTRATIVE APPOINTMENT:

Elizabeth Hardin, as vice president for administration. She received a B.A. (1981) in business administration at the University of Georgia, and an M.B.A. (1985) at Harvard University.

FACULTY APPOINTMENTS:

College of Agriculture -- Alexandre Latchininsky as assistant professor in the Department of Renewable Resources. He received B.S. and M.S. degrees in entomology at Russia's St. Petersburg State University, and a Ph.D. (2001) at UW.

College of Health Sciences -- Heywood Hall Sawyer, as a research professor in the Division of Medical Education and Public Health. He received a B.S. (1968) in biology at East Carolina University, and M.S. (1971) and Ph.D. (1973) degrees in zoology and physiology at UW.

ACADEMIC PROFESSIONAL APPOINTMENT:

College of Agriculture -- Patricia Griffith as assistant extension educator with the Cooperative Extension Service. She received her B.S. (1969) in general home economics at Colorado State University, and an M.A. (1999) in adult education at UW.

FACULTY PROMOTIONS TO PROFESSOR

College of Agriculture -- David Legg and Renduo Zhang, Department of Renewable Resources.

College of Arts and Sciences -- Michael Harkin and Linette Poyer, Department of Anthropology; W. Steven Holbrook, Department of Geology and Geophysics; Rodney Garnett, Department of Music; Larry W. Hazlett, Department of Theatre and Dance.

College of Business -- Frederic Sterbenz and Mark Sunderman, Department of Economics and Finance.

College of Education -- William Berube, Department of Educational Leadership.

College of Agriculture -- Chris Todd Bastian, senior extension educator, and Vicki Hayman, associate extension educator, both in the Cooperative Extension Service.

Trustees also approved numerous tenure-track reappointments, extended term appointments, and extended term-track reappointments.
