UW Trustees Approve Personnel Items

Sept. 25, 2004 -- University of Wyoming trustees today (Saturday) approved the following personnel items:

ADMINISTRATIVE APPOINTMENTS:

COLLEGE OF ARTS AND SCIENCES

Jeffrey D. Hamerlinck, as director of the Wyoming Geographic Information Science Center. Hamerlinck received a B.S. (1988) in geography from the University of North Dakota and a Master of Planning (1992) from the University of Wyoming.

Burke D. Grandjean, as director of the Wyoming Statistical Analysis Center. He also will continue to direct the UW Survey Research Center and also is a professor in the departments of sociology and statistics.

COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCES

John H. Vandel, as dean of the School of Pharmacy. Vandel received a B.S. (1957) in pharmacy from the University of Wyoming.

STUDENT AFFAIRS

Richard E. Stegman Jr., as dean of students. Stegman received a B.A. (1979) in political science from the University of Toledo and an M.A. (1981) in college student personnel from Bowling Green State University.

Jordanka S. Zlatanova, as chairman of the Department of Molecular Biology. Zlatanova received an M.S. in biochemistry from Leningrad State University (USSR) and a Ph.D. in molecular/cell biology from the Institute of Molecular Biology, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.

Richard D. Smith, as assistant professor in the Department of Plant Sciences. Smith received a B.S. (1990) in environmental education and interpretation and a Ph.D. (2003) in ecology.
