UW Gold Semifinalists Announced |

Oct. 2, 2006 -- Top University of Wyoming students have been designated as semifinalists for UW Gold distinction, which replaces traditional Homecoming royalty.
UW Gold is sponsored by Cardinal Key, the junior class honor society. Students are nominated on the basis of continued success in academic studies, community service, and leadership. The tradition is a way for leading students to be recognized by their peers, the university and the state.
Six UW Gold winners will be announced at the Homecoming Sing Wednesday, Oct. 11. The winners will participate in numerous Homecoming activities. They will ride in the Homecoming parade and will be introduced at halftime of the UW-Utah football game on Saturday, Oct. 14.
The UW Gold semifinalists are:
Cheyenne -- Clint Jasperson, psychology; Timothy Read, management and political Science; Kelli Shoaf, anthropology; Ashley Spear, architectural engineering; Hope Wilson, women's studies and Honors Program
Evanston -- Jamie Hexem, pharmacy.
Green River -- Dixie Thoman, English and Spanish literature.
Kemmerer -- Cristine Salo, criminal justice.
Newcastle -- Jessica Ellis, zoology/physiology.
Riverton -- John Kindle, Kinesiology and Health Promotion.
Rock Springs -- Brynn Hvidston, criminal justice and Spanish.
Wauneta, Neb. -- Tabithia Christner, agroecology.
