Professor Philip Cafaro
About the Speaker:
Philip Cafaro is an assistant
professor of philosophy at Colorado State University. His academic work
focuses on virtue ethics, environmental ethics and land management
issues. His articles have appeared in Environmental Ethics,
Ethics and the Environment, Journal of Social Philosophy,
Philosophy Today, and Philosophy in the Contemporary World. A
former ranger with the U.S. National Park Service, Cafaro is active in
local politics and land-use issues in northern Colorado. His book
Thoreau’s Living Philosophy: Walden and the Pursuit of Virtue, is
published by University of Georgia Press.
