We welcome you to the University of Wyoming’s lead unit for diversity concerns on campus, especially as it relates to student success. Multicultural Affairs is committed to the success of students who come from diverse ethnic, racial, and cultural backgrounds; students who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender; female; non-traditional students; international students and students who have an interest in learning more about diversity. Our office also prides itself on its advocacy and leadership work in the area of diversity.

Our goals for services and programming center around five important areas:

• Retention of our multicultural students through provision of services to individuals, groups, and the existence of resource centers.

• Increasing training and awareness of UW’s diverse populations within UW, the community, the state, and the region.

• Assisting with the recruitment of diverse students through collaborations with Admissions, Graduate School, other UW units, and those interested in recruiting diverse populations into higher education.

• Assisting UW to increase the number of diverse faculty and staff.

• Leadership and advocacy for diverse populations through service on UW, local, state, and national committees/agencies/organizations.

We believe in “making visible the invisible” through visibility, recognition and connections for our students and work actively to promote our students’ accomplishments. Finally, we also believe in accountability and providing data on the success of our programs and students.
