Scholarship Information

A lack of financial resources can be a major barrier to post-secondary education for ethnic minority and first-generation college bound students. Obtaining assistance requires careful planning, preparation and perseverance.

As you begin (or continue) your mission to finance your education, please allow the following resources to serve as your starting point. Should you require further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Financial Aid & Opportunities for Minority Students (FAOMS)
Contact: Dolores Saucedo Cardona, Ph.D., Assistant Dean of Students
Phone/ E-mail: (307) 766-6228 |
cardona@uwyo.edu

Compiled by Multicultural Affairs and sponsored by the Office of Admissions, FAOMS is published annually. The purpose of the handbook is to make it more convenient for minority students to find financial and educational opportunities, here at the University of Wyoming, as well as around the country.

The handbook contains information for incoming freshmen through baccalaureate, graduate, and postdoctoral students. Program types range from essay awards, loans, scholarships, grants, and work-study programs to postdoctoral fellowships and research grants. This diversity enables students to locate programs suited to their particular area of interest, eligibility qualifications, and educational goals.

A lot of the information we receive comes from the direct source; however, if there are any errors, please let us know so that we can make the proper corrections. If you would like your financial aid/ program included, please contact us.
