Avalanche Reports & Conditions


CAIC Colorado Avalanche & Information Center
Westwide Avalanche Network Links to all North American avalanche centers.
Medicine Bow Nordic Ski Patrol These folks do a lot of patrolling and rescue work up in the Snowies. Visit their “Patroller Assignment Calendar” link to find out the most current conditions report of the Snowies.

Jackson Hole Jackson is about a six hour drive west of Laramie.
Snowy Range Ski Area Located 30 minutes west of Laramie.
Steamboat Steamboat is about 2 1/2 hours southwest of Laramie.

Grand Teton National Park A six hour drive from Laramie.
Devil's Tower National Monument About a six hour drive from Laramie.
Rocky Mountain National Park Just a three hour drive to our south.
Routt-Medicine Bow National Forest The local land management agency. Managers of Vedauwoo and Snowy Range areas.
Yellowstone National Park About an 8 hour drive from Laramie.

NOLS National Outdoor Leadership school. Based in Lander, WY.
HPOI High Plains outdoor Institute. Based in Laramie, WY.

Rock Climbing


International Climbers Festival Held annually in July in Lander, WY.
Wild Iris Mountain Sports Contains a lot of information about local climbing and hiking areas near Lander.
