CORE COMPONENT

Core Courses

Graduate students begin with the course NURS 5010: Health and Health Care in Rural Cultures and finish with NURS 5500: Issues in Rural Advanced Nursing.  You'll also enroll in course work covering the theoretical basis of nursing.  This includes examination and analysis of midrange theories such as learning theory, ethical decision making, communication theory, and theory of leadership.  These midrange theories are examined for their fit into nursing theory and nursing practice.  The methodological basis of nursing research is studied along with its application to nursing practice in rural settings.

The core courses are all offered on-line.
