Early Childhood Development (ECD) Option

Student Policies & Requirements
2007

As part of your acceptance into the Master's Program pursuing the Early Childhood Development option, you will be expected to provide documentation and/or abide by the following School of Nursing policies and requirements. It is your responsibility to keep these requirements current throughout the completion of the program and to provide the School of Nursing with updated documentation. Failure to do so will result in your being prohibited from attending classes/clinicals.

We recommend that you start obtaining/collecting the following information immediately upon notification of acceptance.

    • Malpractice Insurance - documentation due 5/01/07

    • RN Licensure - documentation due upon acceptance to program

  3. Requirements for Nursing Courses/Clinicals

    Click on any links underline below to find further information, dates required, and instructions about each of the requirements:

    • Student Handbook / Course Syllabi / Textbooks
      • Student Handbooks

        All students admitted to the program are held responsible for knowledge of the content within the School of Nursing Student Handbook. The handbook is found on our web site at this link: STUDENT HANDBOOK. The updated handbooks for each academic year will be available at that site starting in August of each year. Please become familiar with the Core Handbook section as well as the MS Program section.

      • Course Syllabi

        • Online Courses - syllabi available online within the individual course site once the semester has started
        • Face-to-face Courses - faculty will send out the syllabi by email. Syllabi will also be available on the eCompanion website for the course.
      • Textbooks

        Textbooks are available for purchase through the UW Bookstore.

    • Clinical

      The Pediatric Assessment Clinical course will be offered in the summer. You will need to have copies of all the requested immunization records, CPR and malpractice insurance records in to the School before you can participate in the clinical.

  5. Heads Up on Fees!

    • Online Course Delivery Fee (NURS 5010, 5025, 5026, 5140, 5165, 5500, 5600)
      When paying tuition and fees for the semester, students will be assessed an additional fee of $40 per credit hour (current rate) for all Online UW courses offered through eCollege.
