- Acceptable CPR certification courses:
"Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers" through American Heart
Association
(this card covers you for 2 years; if you take the class the summer
prior to starting the program, it will cover you through the entire
program)
or
"CPR for the Professional Rescuer (CPR/FPR)" through American Red Cross
(this card covers you for one year; if you take the class the summer
prior to starting the program, you will need to recertify the following
summer)
- The School of Nursing must always have a copy of your most current
CPR card. Your current certification must carry
you through the entire academic year.
- If your CPR card expires within the fall or spring, you must update the card
and furnish a copy of the new card
PRIOR to the start of that academic
year.
- Since cards may not be issued at the time of the class, and since it
could take approximately 2 weeks for your card to be issued after
completion of the course, it is important to sign up early for classes
to meet our deadline.
