One of our students wrote, "The charge nurse on my new PCU unit told me that 'UW must be doing something right, because they make great nurses.'" - UW School of Nursing Graduate, Megan Anderson

  • Student Perspective: Let one of our current students tell you his perceptions about this option: "At this time I've completed 5 courses toward the MSN through Online UW. In each case I have found the course content to be complete and thorough, challenging and thought-provoking. The quality of instruction is outstanding!  There is a very high level of instructor-student interaction, probably more than I’ve experienced in most of my “live” classes at other schools. My experience with UW has been that everyone associated with the University treats students as adult learners, with dignity, caring and respect. Instructor facilitation of group discussions in virtual classrooms has encouraged participation from all students in a way that challenges them to think and share ideas and perceptions. The one-on-one interaction I’ve had with my instructors through e-mail or voice communication has consistently been very respectful, supportive and encouraging. Rather than just teaching facts, they seem to focus on developing a comprehensive knowledge base and critical thinking skills. They are not only preparing us to be Nurse Educators through coursework, they are teaching and demonstrating the principles and application of Nursing Education through their practice and interactions with the students.  While the University seems to have very high standards and excellence is the expectation, everything I’ve experienced seems to be designed to help the student grow to meet and exceed the standards and expectations."
