The Nursing Career Fair was held Friday, Nov. 17th, 2006 in the Wyoming Union Ballroom on campus. The fair was well-attended by the University of Wyoming nursing students, pleasing the 29 employers from the state and throughout the northwest who came to promote their institutions in hopes of attracting upcoming graduates. This fair, held annually each fall semester, presents an opportunity for students to visit with the employers about the variety of job options awaiting them. The agencies involved also can be considered for potential sites for clinical practicum experiences.
Twelve Wyoming hospitals/medical and behavioral health centers were represented; in addition, neighboring states' facilities, nation-wide travel nursing agencies, the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, army, navy and air force recruiting centers, DaVita dialysis services, the Peace Corps and Veterans Affairs Medical Centers all gave the students a wide and exciting view of their soon-to-be nursing profession.
