Nursing Workforce Project of Wyoming

The Wyoming Center for Nursing and Health Care Partnerships (WCNHCP) mission is to "Strengthen the nursing workforce through ongoing collaboration, communication, and consensus building to meet the health needs of the people of Wyoming."

The center develops projects to enhance and understand recruitment, training, and retention, with a focus on long-term care in Wyoming since its inception in 2008. The development of the center and partnership acts to provide a central data clearing house and resources for developing evaluation programs and information dissemination to promote the nursing workforce in Wyoming. The WCNHCP works with various organizations to enhance the collaboration including higher education, nursing organizations, public and private health care organizations and community organizations.

To date accomplishments include: the creation of a diverse and strong advisory board, and funding of five pilot projects in the state that focus on innovative recruitment and retention issues.
