Dr. Scott Meredith is Lecturer/Assistant Professor at the University of Wyoming where he teaches applied trumpet, brass methods, Jazz History, and Music Appreciation. He has performed nationally with the Owensboro Symphony (KY), the Irving, Plano, and San Angelo Symphonies (TX), Dallas Wind Symphony, Orchestra of New Spain (TX), Newcastle Brass Quintet, Baroque Chamber Orchestra of Colorado, Boulder Philharmonic and the Colorado Jazz Orchestra.  Dr. Meredith maintains an active schedule of performance engagements, masterclasses, and clinics in the Rocky Mountain region.  Currently, he is Principal trumpet with the Wyoming Symphony and Opera Fort Collins, and Third/Assistant Principal trumpet in the Cheyenne and Fort Collins Symphonies.  Dr. Meredith is also on the faculties of Western State Chamber Institute (Gunnison, CO) and Laramie County Community College (Cheyenne, WY).

Dr. Meredith earned the Doctor of Musical Arts in trumpet performance from the University of North Texas where he studied with Keith Johnson, Leonard Candelaria, and John Holt and baroque trumpet with John Thiessen.  Dr. Meredith earned his Masters degree in trumpet performance from the University of North Texas and his Bachelor of Music Performance and Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Northern Colorado. He can be heard on the “Teaching Music through Performance in Band” series as well as numerous recordings with the University of North Texas Wind Symphony under the direction of Eugene Corporon as part of the “Klavier Wind Project,” including:  Convergence, UFO: Music of Michael Daugherty, Time Pieces, Recollections, Symphonic Excursions, Escapades, Carmina Burana, Hemispheres, Allegories, and Retrospectives.
