
ADMISSION CRITERIA
| 1 - Bachelor's Degree | |

A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a 3.0 minimum GPA. One official transcript of your academic records should be sent to the UW Graduate Admissions Office from registrars of all undergraduate institutions attended. |
| 2 - UW Graduate Application & Fee Payment | |
|
|
The University of Wyoming Graduate School application is available on-line and you can apply immediately here. |
| 3 - Take the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) | |
|
|
A minimum score of 900 (verbal + quantitative) is expected. Alternative tests/waivers may be granted to students with previous graduate degrees. Information can be found at the UW Testing Center and similar sites. UW's reporting code is 4451. |
| 4 - Submit Three Letters of Recommendation | |
|
|
Letters of recommendation may be academic and/or professional in nature and from persons knowledgeable of your qualifications for the program. Send letters directly to the Graduate Coordinator or the MPA Director in the Political Science Department with form attached. |
| 5 - Assistantship Application | |
| Competitive assistantships are available in the department. Interested students must have the ability to be on campus full time during the academic year. The application is found here and once completed, should be mailed directly to the department. | |
| 6 - Take the TOEFL Test (International Students Only) | |
| Minimum expectations are as follows: Written (540), Computer (207) & Internet (76). | |
| Application Decision | |
| Once all materials have been received, your application is complete. After an evaluation of all credentials by the MPA admissions committee, the director will send a recommendation to the Graduate School to admit or deny. | |
