Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?

CALLING ALL LIVESTOCK MEMBERS….. WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE? What are you going to do with your livestock check? Remember last year Teton County Extension Community Development Educator, Mary Martin provided us with two outstanding programs designed to encourage us to think ahead with our finances? As livestock sale checks will be rolling out soon, I would like to encourage you all to plan ahead and remind you of what your check could grow to in the future.  Mary shared with us in her class this web site (www.themint.org). It calculates the compound interest you could earn on your livestock check with different investment strategies.

Star Valley - Thursday, December 4, 2008 at 5 pm in the Afton Civic Center.

 Kemmerer – January 15, 2009 at 5 pm

New State 4-H Club Changes
(Year 2008-2009)
  • All 4-H clubs must be comprised of at least five members from two different families.
  • All 4-H clubs are required to complete a secretary's book each year and submit to the Extension Office a copy of all meeting minutes that include financial notations concerning money spent
  • If any clubs are doing fundraisers or have cash flow, they are required to submit a treasurer’s book to account for how the money was spent.
  • A yearly inventory list will need to be submitted to the Extension Office by each club leader.
  • All 4-H Clubs that have a checking or savings account must contact the Extension Office to get an EIN number.
  • All 4-H Clubs must submit a 4-H Club Charter form to the Extension Office each year (Starting October 1 through November). New Clubs will submit the Charter form as they are organized. The form will be included in the folder each leader is given yearly.
  • All 4-H Clubs will have a yearly evaluation.  This evaluation is to help the clubs function properly which help 4-H members gain the full potential of the program.
  • All 4-H members must complete the State 4-H Record Book Portfolio that is available online.
If you have any questions about these changes, please contact Shar Perry at the Afton Extension Office, 885-3132
Project Meeting Requirement

Lincoln County Requirement: All members must attend five (5) meetings during the year.

Members should attend at least two (2) meetings in each of their project areas.  This is to help promote the education in each project.  The rest may come from community club meeting attendance.

Community Service Project Reminder

Remember - everyone should do a community service project as part of the 4-H program.  It is important for 4-H youth to learn to care about other people in the community.  We need to take pride in our communities and help to keep them clean and safe.  When serving the community remember you are not being reimbursed for your actions, but simply doing the project for the pride of knowing you’ve helped make a difference in your community, country, and world. You also make a difference in your own lives as you become better citizens.  Plan your community service project today and if you need help or ideas, please contact the Extension Office.
