AudioCaseFiles

Our law school is a founding sponsor of AudioCaseFiles, which contains downloadable audio files of court opinions and podcasts from law professors and law students. The website contains cases from 1L classes along with some 2L and 3L subjects. Registering an account, with your law school email address, will give you unlimited, free access to this resource. The media is in MP3 format and once downloaded, the audio can be played from a personal computer, burned to a CD, or used on a portable player such as an iPod.

Foreign Law Guide

The Foreign Law Guide provides links to current sources of codes and basic legislation for more than 170 jurisdictions in the world.   The primary goal is to provide English translations of full text legislation, but the editors have expanded their efforts to include translations in other languages such as French, German, Spanish, and Italian.  This full-text database is accessible from any University of Wyoming computer by clicking on "Subscriber Login."

Hein Online

Hein Online provides access to primary law and secondary sources.  Primary law databases include the Federal Register, the Code of Federal Regulations, session laws, AG opinions, English Reports, Supreme Court opinions, and treaties.  Hein Online's secondary source databases include the Legal Classics library and the Hein Online Law Journal Library which provides full coverage of almost all American law journals from their inception.  This full-text database provides PDF files of content and is accessible from any University of Wyoming computer.

Human Rights Documents Online

Human Rights Documents Online (HRDO) will ultimately contain all human rights documents collected by the Human Rights Internet in Ottawa since 1980. These documents emanate from 417 non-governmental human rights organizations worldwide.  Currently, only documents from 2003 are available, but the database will be developing rapidly.  This full-text database is accessible to any University of Wyoming patron.

Index to Foreign Legal Periodicals

The Index to Foreign Legal Periodicals is the major multilingual index to articles appearing in over 500 legal journals published worldwide. The index provides in-depth coverage of public and private international law, comparative and foreign law, and the law of all jurisdictions other than the United States, the U.K., Canada, and Australia. The Index to Legal Periodicals Retrospective: 1908-1981 increases success in identifying older law review articles. The resource indexes over 750 legal periodicals published in the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. The index conveniently links to full text articles when available and is accessible within the law school.

Legal Scholarship Network

The Legal Scholarship Network is a part of the Social Science Research Network whose objective is to provide worldwide distribution of research to authors and their readers. Authors are invited to upload papers without charge, and any paper an author uploads is downloadable for free.  Select the University of Wyoming as an affiliate when registering to have the highest level of access to full-text articles.

LegalTrac indexes approximately 875 titles including major law reviews, legal newspapers, bar association journals and international legal journals. Titles included in LegalTrac are selected by a special advisory committee of the American Association of Law Libraries and are therefore highly regarded. LegalTrac does not provide the full-text of articles, so check in our LegalFerret library catalog to see if our library subscribes to the needed journal. The Law Library Microfilm Consortium is a non-profit consortium of libraries devoted to providing economical access to a wide range of legal and law-related material.  The LLMC-Digital product has made the LLMC microfilm collection available as searchable or browsable full-text images. The U.S. Congressional Serial Set Digital Collection, which contains House and Senate documents and reports, gives researchers access to full-text, original documents from the original U.S. Serial Set. The set begins in 1789 with the American State Papers and continues through 1969.  The database is part of LexisNexis Congressional and is available from any University of Wyoming computer.

Our subscription to Westlaw Patron Access allows you to perform legal research in all primary law databases, Keycite, and within the legal research library which includes ALR's, Am Jur, Restatements, and law reviews. Access is blocked to databases outside the library’s subscription, so you will not accidentally accrue charges for searching outside your library’s plan. To view the databases included in your library’s subscription, click Directory on the toolbar, then click the folders to browse all levels of the directory.  Westlaw Patron Access is available from the three computers located in the library reference room.
