Library Catalogs

LegalFerret

LegalFerret is the library catalog for the George W. Hopper Law Library in the UW College of Law. Visit LegalFerret to locate treatises, law reviews, primary law, reserves, and other resources in our library.

UW Libraries

The University of Wyoming Libraries combined catalog is separate from LegalFerret and provides access information to resources from William R. Coe Library, the Library Annex, the Geology Library, the American Heritage Center, and others.

WorldCat

WorldCat is the world's largest library catalog, so a search might identify a nearby library that has your needed title. WorldCat is also handy if you need to find citation information, if you need to know if a particular title exists, or if you’re curious as to whether a print work has an online version or not.

Interlibrary Loan Options

Staff Provided Service – ILL for Law Students, Faculty, and Staff

If you are seeking a resource not found in LegalFerret, Susan Wozny (phone: 307-766-2232; email: woz@uwyo.edu) at the law library circulation desk can try to track down the text or find a copy for you and make it conveniently available in the law building.  Too busy to make a trip to Coe Library?  No problem.  Materials from UW Libraries can be requested through Susan.  Interlibrary loans can take anywhere from a week to ten days in most cases.

On Your Own – Prospector for UW Students, Faculty, and Staff

Prospector is a unified catalog for Colorado and Wyoming which allows borrowing from 22 Colorado libraries. Search through the catalog, identify the needed item, and make the request electronically. Instructions on using Prospector are provided and include information on locating your required “W-number.” Once Coe Library has received your requested title, you will be notified by e-mail. Materials usually arrive within a couple of days.  You will need to pick up the item from Coe Library. Direct links to Prospector are made available within the UW Libraries catalog.
