Visiting Professors at the UW College of Law

We are pleased to introduce you to Professor Dennis Stickley (photo right) and Professor Lawrence MacDonnell (photo below) who will join our law school as visiting professors during the upcoming academic year.
Professor Stickley - Oil & Gas
Professor Stickley will teach Oil & Gas at the law school as a visiting professor. He will also be instrumental in coordinating energy-related symposia in addition to his teaching duties.
Stickley is an international legal expert in petroleum law who has been based in Wellington, New Zealand. He earned his J.D. from the University of Wyoming and his LLM-Energy Law from the University of Utah.
In his twenty years of practice, Stickley has been the chief legal officer for Sinclair Oil Corporation and Petroleum Exploration Corporation of New Zealand. He has also worked as an advisor on petroleum law and negotiations regarding petroleum resource development, pipeline transportation and fuel purchase contracts to Petrobangla, PetroVietnam, Kazmunigaz, Cambodian Ministry of Mines and Energy, Perusahaan Gas Negara (Persero), Gas Authority of India, Papua New Guinea Department of Mines and Petroleum, and Philippines National Power Corporation.
The University of Dundee Centre for Energy, Petroleum & Mineral Law and Policy appointed Stickley as Honorary Lecturer where for the last six years he has been the Course Director and principal instructor for seminars on Petroleum Industry Negotiations, Petroleum Service Contracts, Fuel Supply and Electrical Power Contracting, Petroleum Production Contracts and Downstream Petroleum Law. Stickley's research in the field of petroleum law has been published in the Land and Water Law Review, the Tulsa Law Journal and the Journal of Comparative and International Law.
Professor MacDonnell - Water Law
Professor
MacDonnell will teach Water Law as a visiting professor.
MacDonnell earned his J.D. from the University of Denver College of Law and his Ph.D. from the Colorado School of Mines.
He is currently an adjunct professor at the University of Colorado Law School and is the former director of the Natural Resources Law Center at the University of Colorado School of Law in Boulder. MacDonnell is of counsel at the firm of Porzak Browning & Bushong LLP. His practice areas include water law, environmental law, NEPA, endangered species, wetlands protection, and conservation easements.
He has been published in the Nebraska Law Review, Arizona Law Review, the Water Report, and the Colorado Lawyer.
Both of these visiting professors come to us with stellar reputations in their respective fields, and we are eager to bring them on board.
