UW College of Law Students Compete in Vegas

This past March, UW College of Law students competed in the American Association for Justice regional Student Trial Advocacy Competition in Las Vegas, Nevada.  The Student Trial Advocacy Competition (STAC) takes place in 14 regions across the country, with over 100 law schools participating.  Each competing team consists of four students, who perform as lawyers and witnesses in a civil case tried before a panel of practicing lawyers or judges.

Wyoming chooses its representatives through an intra-school trial competition, the Rothgerber Johnson & Lyons Trial Advocacy Competition (Rothgerber Competition), during the fall semester.  This intra-school competition is sponsored by the Casper law firm of Rothgerber Johnson & Lyons LLP.

This year, law students Jody Haskins, Anthony Albright, Julie Rhoden, and Carrie Shaw along with their faculty coach, Professor Bob Southard, competed.  Haskins said, "We went 2-1 and defeated Arizona State University and Whittier College of Law."

Great job to the UW College of Law team!
